Join Brooklyn for Peace for an evening with activists from the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) which bring volunteers from around the world to defend Palestine through nonviolent resistance. The presentation will include a screening of an abridged version of “Radiance of Resistance,” a film produced by three ISM volunteers in Nabi Salih and featuring Ahed Tamimi and her cousin Janna Ayyad. The film won Best Documentary at Respect Human Rights Film Festival in Belfast.
ISM is a Palestinian-led movement. In 2002 the ISM made headlines in defending the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the ancient Nablus Casbah, and documented the destruction and mass killing of Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp. In 2009, 2012, and 2014, ISM volunteers were with the Palestinian people in Gaza, reporting the Israeli invasion and air attacks, and helping in the hospitals, clinics and schools even as they were being attached.
